How To Center Your Taskbar Icons in Windows 10

The Windows taskbar serves as a convenient tool for accessing your programs and essential services such as Bluetooth. By default, Windows 10 positions the most vital icons on the right side of the system tray, leaving the middle section available for pinning your program icons. If you have only a handful of icons to pin, you can opt to center them on the taskbar to achieve a visually pleasing appearance.

In this article, we will show you how to center your taskbar icons in Windows 10.

Reason For Centering The Icons On Windows 10 Taskbar

Centering the icons on the Windows 10 taskbar offers several benefits, including:

  1. Aesthetics: Placing the icons in the center gives the taskbar a more aesthetically pleasant and balanced appearance.
  2. Consistency: The placement of icons at the center ensures a consistent and integrated user experience by aligning with other Windows 10 elements such as the Start menu and action center.
  3. Adaptability: The act of centering the icons on the taskbar offers users greater adaptability and flexibility. This arrangement guarantees that the icons maintain an even spacing and a pleasing aesthetic, regardless of the number of apps pinned to the taskbar.
  4. Focus: Enhance your focus and concentration by centering the icons, which eliminates distractions caused by unevenly spaced or cluttered arrangements. A centered taskbar promotes a visually calming and organized workspace.
  5. Personalization: With the ability to center icons on the taskbar, users can achieve a personalized layout that is both visually pleasing and consistent. They can also rearrange the order of icons and pin their frequently used apps for easy accessibility.

By centering the icons on the Windows 10 taskbar, the overall user experience is elevated through enhanced aesthetics, consistency, adaptability, focus, and personalization.

How To Center My Taskbar Icons?

By default, the icons in Windows 10 are aligned to the left. However, you have the option to customize the taskbar settings and center your icons.

Step 1: Right-click the Windows 10 taskbar.

Step 2: Select Taskbar settings, then uncheck Lock the taskbar.

Step 3: Next, set the taskbar location to the Bottom under the Taskbar location on the screen.

Step 4: Under Combine taskbar icons, select Always, and hide labels.

Step 5: Right-click on the taskbar again, select Toolbars, and tap Links to toggle on.

Step 6: Once the links section is toggled on, two vertical lines appear. Drag the right vertical line adjacent to Links to the left past the taskbar icons and the left vertical line.

Step 7: Taskbar icons will now appear on the right side of the taskbar. Drag the vertical line next to the icons to move the icons to an ideal center position on your taskbar.

Step 8: Once icons are centered, right-click on the taskbar and select Lock the taskbar from the pop-up menu.

Enhance the appearance of your Windows 10 taskbar by utilizing Taskbar X, which offers a variety of icon styling options, animations, and other customization features. Alternatively, if you desire a start menu similar to that of Windows 11, consider using Start11 by Stardock.

If your PC falls short of Windows 11’s minimum requirements, you can still access the new start menu by paying a fee. But if you enjoy experimenting with your gadgets, there’s a workaround to bypass the installation requirements and use the new start menu without relying on external software.

Personalize the Position of Taskbar Icons in Windows 10

By default, the icons on the Windows 10 taskbar are left-aligned, and the majority of users prefer this arrangement. Nevertheless, if you desire a more visually pleasing appearance, you can easily center the icons without relying on any external software. Additionally, you can employ the same technique to move the taskbar icons to the right, alongside the system tray.
